Bristol Motor Speedway

What was and what to come week 23

What was and what to come!!

We really hade some GREAT races at Bristol Motor Speedway with lots of rubbing and lots of close racing!! The low downforce is giving us so much better racing at the short tracks than what we hade last years high downforce rule package. If we look back on the racing we seen the last couple of weeks the only race that has been boring was the Coke 600 at Charlotte, the 500km has a little bit more exciting mostly due to mixing up the start order by the invert of the top twenty finisher in the 600!! IMHO NASCAR has done a great job with the line up and no practice procedures during these Corona times! I only can say Who Needs Qualifying and practice sessions, other than Kyle Busch and maybe some of the Truck teams that are missing the races, even after NASCAR extended the starters to 40 trucks there still was 7 teams that have enough points last week at Charlotte and again this week at Atlanta!! Lets save the team some money and skip the Quals and put a limit to the practice time or just let the teams have a few shake down laps to check things out before sending them true Tech!!

What’s next!!

Atlanta Motor Speedway is what’s up this weekend for the race that was originally scheduled  for March 15, 2020, and make it a triple header weekend where NASCAR squeezes in the races for all three top series in just two days with a dubble header on Saturday, Trucks and Xfinity, followed by the Cup race on Sunday!

We also get to watch the first Indy car race of the season from Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday 8pm eastern time on NBC, Sweden Viasat / Viaplay, with Qualifying 5 pm eastern time!

  1. Nice article Bernth. I can only agree with you. I loved this year Bristol Motor Speedway races with the new downforce rule packages!

  2. Oh I have forgotten that Kenny Brack did win that Indy race in 1998. Those were the days when Kenny dominated the Indycar circuit. Nice link Bernth 🙂 Will we see a Swedish driver in top-3 in Texas???
