Below a racing Tv schedule for the weekends NASCAR racing at Madison Illinois, and Portland Oregon along with the Indy Car racing at Detroit, Michigan June 2022. This being the first NASCAR Cup race at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. NASCAR has given the Cup team a 50 minutes practice session on Friday before Qualifying on Saturday. The Trucks has been racing at Gateway for a couple of years and will follow there normal race weekend schedule.
With the Xfinity race being a stand-alone event at Portland International Raceway, NASCAR opted not to have the Xfinity teams try to hire pit crews and fly them to Portland. So the same people who work on the car will pit the car. The rules for the Xfinity race at Portland, not having live pit stops – teams won’t have specific over-the-wall crews. Teams will get 3 minutes during the stage breaks. Also Teams can only add fuel during stage breaks. If a change of tires on pit road under green is needed, there is a minimum time limit of 60 seconds from yellow line to yellow line.
Indy Car and Indy Lights are back this weekend, racing at The Raceway at Bell Isle Park, in Detroit. With Marcus Ericsson coming of the Indy 500 win and Felix Rosenqvist having a couple of solid Indy weeks, I’ll hope the can keep the momentum up with strong runs. In Indy Lights Swedish driver Linus Lundqvist brought home a win and a fifth place in last years races and coming of a win in the last race we’re hoping for another strong finish.
Some other racing of interest this weekend: IMSA also races at Bell Isle and is on USA network / Peacock (Sweden, VIAPLAY ) 3:00 PM (21::00) Saturday. NHRA from Epping on F.S.-1 at 7:00 PM Sunday. So by the looks of it, it seams like we have plenty of racing to watch the weekend.
